It is a 5k muddy obstacle course where women of any ability can climb, jog and walk all over cancer."

My daughter was part of a seven girls team participating in the charity 'fun' race Pretty Muddy- Race for Life on Sunday 12th July at Heaton Park Manchester. there can't be many of us that have not been touched in one way or another by the 'big C'. The 'big C 'took my father in 2007 and more recently my farther-in-law.

The Race for Life is a fantastic charity raising funds for cancer research and clearly it was fun for all of those taking part!  Mud Mud Glorious Mud! The girls has a great time and equally it was just as fun as a spectator.

Thank you to all who sponsored them they raised over £400.

East Lancashire Railway 1940s weekend May 2015 https://www.timelessportraiture.co.uk/blog/2015/7/east-lancashire-railway-1940s-weekend-may-2015 East Lancs Railway 1940s Weekend

I thought I'd share some images from the 1940s weekend at East Lancs Railway in May earlier this year

The Railway ends in my home town of Rawtenstall so I bought a rover ticket for myself and my mother -in-law. We spent the day hoping on and off the train at the various stops along its' course and a splendid time was had by all.

The carriages were inhabited by a cast of WWII extras, from military personnel to civilians. One of the highlights was listening to the Hotsie Totsies  - http://thehotsietotsies.blogspot.co.uk -  on the Bury platform who provided an authentic 1940s sound reminiscent of the Andrews Sisters.

A lovely couple, Ty and Summer entertained the crowds with some impromtu dancing.
